I knew the anime was good when it started gaining popularity back in the early 2000s, but the overwhelming amount of episodes and chapters intimidated me from picking it up.
But, maybe it was because of all the positive reviews online, and the long holiday I'm having right now, so I thought "why not?"...
Well.
I'd watched it continuously on computer and my iPhone, completely deprived of sleep, and I got to say, I FRIGGIN' LOVE THE ANIME!
And to people who said the art is too ugly and most of the characters needed plastic surgery, oh well, your lost.
I never had anything against the art, in fact I found it unique compared to the thousands of mangakas who drew the same anime girls/guys style. Sure they're pretty but if the storyline is boring... Meh.
Thank you Oda-sensei for creating One Piece, before I knew it I was sucked into the story and found myself crying/laughing together with the characters.
Picked up Bleach once, was bored of it after fast forwarding 60+ episodes, heard it went downhill after main villain was dead.
